Ann Coupar

Biography

I come from a long line of Artists.  I won several painting competitions as a child, and graduated from Hammersmith School of Art in 1964 with the N.D.D for Textiles after which I joined my Father working as a textile designer for thirty years in London.

After my Fathers death, I moved with my Husband to Cornwall in 1996 to concentrate on painting.  I gained a B.A in fine art from University College Falmouth in 2005.  I have work in several local galleries and hold solo exhibitions once a year.  In 2008 and 2010 I had a painting accepted for the RA Summer exhibition.

I work with mixed media and oils.  I try to convey the essence and the distinctive quality of the subject, creating works based on the seasonal colours and mystical nature of the Cornish landscape.
